PERMANENT EYELINER, LIP LINER, LIPSTICK, and EYEBROWS
Permanent makeup is possible through a procedure called micropigmentation, which is similar to tattooing. Micropigmentation is a precise method of depositing color (pigment) into the dermal layer of the skin.

At Eye Associates we use top of the line equipment and follow the strictest OSHA standards. All needles are sterile and disposed of after each use.

Clients choose their own makeup styles and color preferences. During the consultation appointment several different styles are shown to enhance their natural beauty. The ultimate choice of style and color is up to the client.

PERMANENT LIP LINER and LIPSTICK
Permanent lips can give more fullness and definition to the mouth, as well as correct an uneven lip line It can even minimize the appearance of wrinkles. Pigment can create a natural tone or a more visible color.

PERMANENT EYEBROWS
This procedure can add fullness and definition to thin or sparse eyebrows. Permanent eyebrows frame your eyes and lend expression to your face. Those with Alopecia are grateful for this "face defining" procedure.

ADVANTAGES
Permanent makeup is ideal for active people who always want to look their best without spending a lot of time to apply makeup throughout the day.

Everyone benefits from permanent cosmetics from the young to the elderly. It is great for swimmers (no need to worry about mascara running down your face), people whose eyesight is not as good as it used to be, people with tremors, people on chemotherapy who may loose their eyebrows and eyelashes, just about everyone who want a soft natural look without having to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror applying makeup.

At the end of the day your makeup looks as good as it did when you first got up!

DISADVANTAGES
The greatest disadvantage is that it is permanent. You do not want to have a trendy style permanently applied. It is always better to have the procedure done so that it looks natural and enhances your beauty. You can always add additional makeup if you want the eyeliner heavy for evening or to change the color. Other disadvantages are having the procedure done by and inexperienced person, or in an unclean environment. Always ask to see a portfolio of pictures and always ask if the technician is using sterile, disposable needles. Check the surroundings to make sure they are clean and orderly.

WHAT TO EXPECT
At the time of your consultation you should arrive with your make up on in the desired way you would like it to look after the procedure. Photos will be taken. The technician will take a health history, go over risks and benefits, and discuss the consent form. Style and pigment color will be chosen. The actual procedure can be done on the same day or scheduled for a different day.

On the day of the procedure you will arrive with no makeup on. Photos will be taken. Consent will be signed. Color and style will be confirmed.

For the procedure you will be made comfortable and topical anesthetic will be applied to the area receiving permanent makeup. Topical anesthetic will stay on 15-30 minutes depending on the anesthetic used and the area being treated. The actual procedure can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on style and area treated.

Topical anesthetics work very well and you should feel minimal discomfort during the procedure. You may have minimal swelling and/or bruising.

Photos will be taken at the end of the procedure.

You will be sent home with after care instructions and what to expect during the healing process. You can always call at any time if you have any questions. We have a physician on call 24 hours every day.

Immediately after the procedure the color will appear very dark. Do not worry. The color will soften and lighten usually by the second week. Healing time is different for each individual and for different procedures. The implanted color may change somewhat during the healing process as it combines with each individuals skin tone.

It is our philosophy to be conservative with the first procedure as it is easier to add more color at a later date than to try to remove color. You will be scheduled for a recheck and color boost, if necessary, about 8 weeks after the initial procedure. At the touch up appointment, thicker lines, more color and any other adjustment can be made.

ARE PERMANENT COSMETICS REALLY PERMANENT?
Pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin. As with any other type of tattoo, they will fade with time, sun exposure, skin chemistry, etc. We expect the color to last 2-10 years.

CAN I STILL HAVE AN MRI?
Pigments are safe, however because some are iron-based, they can be affected by strong magnetic fields. There have been a few reports of "minor irritation" in the area of permanent makeup after an MRI; however, having permanent makeup does not preclude anyone from having an MRI.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
(Permanent makeup is expected to last 2-10 years.)

Eyeliner $600
Upper or Lower Lid only $350
Eyebrows $700
Lip Liner with Fill $800

HOW MUCH IS A TOUCH UP?

Included in the original cost of the treatment is one touch up.  If you require more, the cost is 1/2 the original price per touch up.
